Tracey’s Hot Spots for Saturday, May 21 2016

Good morning music fans. I can tell Summer is encroaching as the weekends are offering more and more fun events. Having a look around the state; today is the second day of Leftover Salmon’s Blue Ridge Jam. According to the Facebook page the rest of the weekend shapes up like this:

RoseFest in Pink Hill, NC  is another fun attraction going down today. Lots of live music and flowers…sounds like fun for all! 


Closing out the event this evening is local country star,  Bryan Mayer. As noted his set starts at 8:30 and concludes about 10 this evening.



Going on this weekend in Grifton, NC The Ghost Riders are hosting their annual Summer Bash and tonight on that bill you can find the rocking grooves of Bill Lyerly. With camping, good food, live music and great fun to be had, grab the tent and pack the cooler! Lyerly takes to the stage at 8:00 PM




If you are looking for hard and heavy rock, be sure to head west and check in with my buddy , Jeff Young, guitar man for sleaze rock outfit, Last Call Messiahs. They have two gigs today including a birthday bash at The Aviator Brewing Company  located on Technology Park Ln in Fuquay Varina, NC. After that show the boys will head over to the Southland Ball  located on N West St, Raleigh to join The Fifth, Meliora, Fourth Hour and one other band yet to be announced . Blast into Southland Ballroom for an unbelievable night of live music. Admission is just $10.


Looking to the coast there is lots happening along the Crystal Coast, including the 28th Annual Beaufort Music Festival. This event offers two stages and lots of fine talent. According to their facebook event is well underway and this is who you can still see there:

Over in Cedar Point, Harrika’s Brew Haus is hosting an event that definitely wets my whistle…Burgers, Blues and Brews tonight with music being provided by Wolverenes out of Morehead City, NC and food will be offered by a new food truck on the scene, Jackie’s American Grill. This event gets underway at 7 and goes into the evening.


Heading over to Swansboro, you can catch Justin Castellano live tonight at the Icehouse Restaurant on the water. Is a unique entertainer and well worth checking out. Catch him tonight live from 9-midnight!


Built for Comfort  will be performing live at The Red Room in Kinston NC and kicks off their show at 10 PM.


Over in Ayden it is the “King of Q” Cook off and Festival  going on all day and featuring lots of live and local music. Closing out the event, you can check out TrainWreck who take it to the people at 7 PM.



Bringing it back around our area, there is live music on the Deck every Saturday afternoon, so if you are in town and craving some grooves, go to the deck! Live music from 2:30-5:30 each week.

Today is also  the Antique Boat and Car Show in Downtown New Bern. Stop by the Galley Store on Front Street.


BruTopia  located in James City will be hosting an open jam this evening with host, Matthew Kerlin join in or just stop by to enjoy, this event happens at 6:30 this evening.


Tonight at The Brown Peliccan on Broad Street you can check out the great grooves of Hot Buttered Grits live tonight!


The final event I have to share with you is James Ford  who will be gigging this evening from 10:30-1:30 tonight at Mesh Sports Lounge, down on Trent Road. There is no cover but please remember that FREE music is never free, so be kind to your servers and tip musicians too.
