Live Music Options for Saturday, August 6, 2016:

Around the Region:

Looking to our west there you can attend the 6th Annual Red White and Blues Festival at Grove Winery & Vineyards located at 7360 Brooks Bridge Rd., Gibsonville, NC. Door opens at 5 and the music gets started at 6 pm with Not Dead Yet Blues Band. 7:45 pm welcomes Andy Squint Music to the stage and 9:20 pm is the set that closes out the night with a serving of A Cup Full of Blues & The Mojos

The one thing you should know, by order of the NC-ALE no alcohol purchased off-premises can be consumed on site. Food will be available from The Crazy Rib Man and Morazi’s.

Over at the Pig Pounder Brewery located at 1107 Grecade St., Greensboro, NC, you can catch the sounds of Mark Wingerter live from 7-10 pm.

Low Keys will be live delivering their variety of classic rock and modern pop for the folks at Rody’s Tavern located at 5105 Michaux Rd., Greensboro, NC. Showtime is 8 – 11 pm.

Ethan Hanson will be live at World of Beer, located at 1310 Westover Ter; Greensboro, NC. The show will start at 10 and rolling into the morning hours. This pop/rock/blues player is a multi-faceted singer/songwriter who offers feel good grooves and meaningful and socially conscious lyrics. His influences include Dave Matthews, John Mayer, Jason Miraz, Jonny Lang and Ben Harper.

For you hip-hop fans  Fresh Empire & DLOW  will be delivering from 9 pm til 1 am at The Meridian Convetion & Events Center located at 312 W Meadowville, Greensboro, NC.

The last show I have for you out and about in the Greensboro area, is a mega show happening at  Arizona Pete’s located at 2900 Patterson St. Greensboro, NC. Tickets will be available at the door for $12.00. Doors open at 8:30 pm, show starts at 9:30 pm and ends about 2 am.

Gravy Boys

The Gravy Boys are live at The Blue Note Grill located at 709 Washington St., Durham, NC. There is a $10.00 cover for this show and the music starts at 8 pm.

Looking around Raleigh, there is a triple bill on tap at the Deep South Bar located at 430 S Dawson St. Raleigh, N. You can hear Zen Grove Arkest, Dave George & Friends and Grayscale Whale. This night promises to offer a Jazz-Funk-Fusion-Jam & Blues mix. Admission is $6.00 at the door. Sounds like a lot of fun!

Live this week at Tony’s Oyster Bar located at 107 Edinburgh Dr S Suite 129, Cary, NC it is a  Party On the Patio with Crush at 7 pm then head inside for the after party with Rockzilla at 10:30 pm.

Bad Incorporated; the Bad Company/Paul Rodgers Tribute Band will be rocking the room at The Cleveland Draft House located at 6101 NC Highway 42 W; Garner, NC . Showtime is set for 9:30. This is a FREE show folks.

Out in Charlotte there is a CD Release Party with Connor live at the Double Door Inn, located at 1218 Charlottetowne Ave, Charlotte, NC. This is a celebration of Connor’s new album “Skelton” CD release with a brand new backing band, the Skelton Crew. 8:30 pm til the midnight hour for this show!

Looking up to the north we have Ncognito who presents a modern take on every song they perform, from Taylor Swift’s “Shake it Off” to timeless classics by the Temptations. They say , “We are more than a cover band. We are Ncognito.” They will be live at Crossbones Tavern located at 114 E 5th St., Greenville, NC. Showtime is 9:30 pm til 2 am. Rock til ya drop! Also in the area this weekend you can catch Vanilla Gorillas live at AJ McMurphy’s located at 1914 Turnbury Dr., Greenville, NC. Their show is slotted for 9:30 pm-12:30 am. And here is how they summarize their sound:  “With influences from Dispatch, Jack Johnson, and OAR, three local guys, two guitars, and a box come together to make some sweet music.” Check them out as they debut at this venue! Over in Winterville you can enjoy an eclectic evening of art, with wine glass painting, poetry sharing, live music making fun at  The Coffee Shack located at 168 Beacon Dr. Winterville, NC. Here are all the known details on this event:

Over at Backwater Jack’s Tiki Bar & Grill, located at 1052 E Main St., Washington, NC; you can hear the rocking blues of Cotton & The CWT Band on stage at Pebble Beach. I caught these guys  here in June and they rocked me all night with their mix of rockin’ blues.  This band features Kris Niebergal on guitar, Jim Barbee on vocals and harmonica,  and Chuck Phillips on guitar. They will rock you from 7 – 10 pm as you dance in the street, enjoy great food and excellent service.

Later in the evening you can find Chris Nash & The Nash County Line live at The Market Street Pub located at 143 N Market St., Washington, NC. They will rock the room with their country grooves from 10 pm til 1 am.

Coming out of Washington and stopping at Southern Front Campground you can listen to Bob Daw & Friends from 6-8:30 then the Lonesome Creek Band from 8:30-10 pm. Might as well pack the tent while you are packing the cooler and enjoy a great night with live music and a campfire after the music ends! It is DubbCamp5  Reggae Festival celebrating Jamaica Independence Day at Burnt Mill Creek located at 2101 Market St., Wilmington, NC. Tickets for the event are $5.00 and there are three bands featured in the bill including Monjah, Matt Irie and Bret Wray Blues Project. Doors open at 4:20 pm.

A little north, you can check out the blues grooves of Built For Comfort  who will be Shelby Jeans Restaurant located at 15 Carolina Beach Ave., Carolina Beach, NC. They will be rocking the room from 8 pm til the midnight hour.

New Bern’s own Zen Pirates will be rocking at Gibby’s Dock and Dine located at 315 Canal St., Carolina Beach, NC. They get things rolling about 9 pm and rock you into the night til 1 am with their funky and soulful classic rock selections.

Steel Shot will be live at the Idle Hour Biergarten located on the circle in Atlantic Beach. They will groove you outside from 6-9 pm with all the rock and country classics that make you want to dance.

Over in Beaufort you can hear The Remedy jamming live at Royal James Cafe located at 117 Turner St., Beautfort, NC. You can catch them getting their groove on from 9 til midnight!

The Switch will be live on the deck at Southern Salt Seafood Campany & Restaurant, located at 701 Evans St, Morehead City, NC. They will be rocking from 10 pm – 2 am and if you are in the area this is the show to see. They know how to have a good time as they help people dance!

Not at the shore but still along the coast, if you find yourself out and about in Oriental, be sure to check out Bob Laverty live at Oriental Marina & Tiki Bar this Saturday from 7:30-10:30 pm.

About New Bern:

Big Jim Kohler Band will be live on the deck at the DoubleTree by Hilton in the afternoon from 2:30 pm – 5:30 pm. This is a great way to pass the afternoon…live music on the deck with great service and ice cold beer! Not to mention a fill band of blues too!

Coshise Cowboys are live at The Brown Pelican located at 411 Broad St, New Bern, NC. They will be rocking the house from 5-8 pm. Also on this bill are Paul Brion & The Raucous Brothers. They take over the room with their grooves from 8-11 pm.

Aaron Davenport will be rocking the Mesh Sports Lounge located at 2500 Trent Road, New Bern. His show is from 10:30 pm-1:30 am…and there is NO COVER CHARGE!

Around The Region:

 

At The Blind Tiger located at 1819 Spring Garden St, Greensboro, NC they are featuring an event called The Homegrown Artisan Market featuring handmade goods, live music, bar and food. Sounds like a great Sunday afternoon.Things get underway at noon and go until 6 pm.Here is what the event page said ” An alternative art market for local artists and craftspeople to hustle their wares in a great space. We will have live music, a food truck and the bar will be operating so you can drink and eat and shop and dance!”

Wake up, have donuts and enjoy the soothing sounds of Matt Phillips live at Rise, North Raleigh, Sutton Square, located at 6325-6333 Falls of Neuse Rd., Raleigh, NC. He jams from 11 am til 2 pm. I hope to see you there.

Daryl Lucas will be live at The Outpost Saloon, located 3038 Richlands Hwy, Jacksonville, NC. His show is 4-8 pm and there is no cover charge.

The band Dauntless will perform live as part of The Sunday in the Park Summer Concert Series. This event takes place at the Town Commons located at 100 E 1st St, Greenville, NC. The show is from 7 – 8:30 pm.

Bryan Quintard will be playing a solo acoustic show with guest friends sitting in. He likes to loop chords over and jam on top them. It’s up-tempo and fun to watch. Come out and enjoy some local music~ This event is happening this Sunday at Christy’s Euro Pub located at 301 S. Jarvis St., Greenville, NC from 8-11 pm.

Train Wreck will be live at Emerald Isle’s premier night club, SALT Ultra Lounge located at 325 Mangrove Rd., Emerald Isle. They get the room rocking in their funked up and special way beginning at 9 and rolling til 1 am.

Around New Bern:

John Van Dyke and Friends are live on the deck at The DoubleTree by Hilton, located on South Front St., New Bern, NC. Enjoy some great jazz and blues standards as the sun sets over our peaceful little town. They will be live for dinner and music on the deck from 5-9 pm. Enjoy!
