Gettin’ Down Around Town, New Bern, NC
The Brown Pelican located at 411 Broad St., opens their stage to all of the talented players looking to jam. Open Mic gets started at 7 pm and goes until the players quit. Please feel free to pack up the gig bag and join the fun. Show off your talent and entertain the crowd! All players are welcome.
Tonight you can enjoy the sounds of the lovely and talented Alisa Mike, who will be performing all the great standards from 6:30-9:30 pm, this evening during Vintage Thursday at The City Laundry, located at 901 Pollock St., New Bern, NC.
Mike is an amazing and talented singer that is quickly becoming a recognized name for her crooning abilities. If you have some time to take in the talent of this woman, you will not be disappointed. When not performing show tunes and jazz standards, you can find Mike rocking the mic for local rock cover band, Zen Pirates.
Along the Coast ~
Scearce & Ketner will be performing live tonight at Saltwater Grill, located at 99 W Church St., Swansboro, NC. They will be on hand to offer music from 6-9 pm for those interested in having dinner with live music.
Bryan Mayer will be live tonight at Swansboro Yacht Club, located at 126 W Corbett Ave., Swansboro, NC. Music starts at 6:30 pm and he will rock and soothe your soul until 9 pm.
Wild Honey will be live tonight at Carolina Home & Garden, located at 4778 Highway 24 W, Newport, NC., from 6-9 pm. Stop in, do some last minute shopping and enjoy some soup, an adult beverage or two and some awesome live music from this talented, Carteret County based acoustic duo.
The final show I found along the coast is to the South is that of Jeanne Jolly & The Mistletoes. They will be live tonight with their Jolly Holiday Revue at Bourgie Nights, located at 127 Princess St., Wilmington, NC. Doors open at 8 pm and the music starts at 9 pm. Advance tickets are $15. Tickets at the door will be $20.
Around the Region ~
Looking around the Western parts of the state we find Bean Tree Remedy, they will perform this evening at Renaissance Marriott Hotel, located at 31 Woodfin St, Asheville, NC. They are an eclectic entertainment choice offering many styles. The duo will be live from 6:30-8:30 pm
Also going down in Asheville, NC this evening, you can check out The Zero Kings. The Blues duo will be performing live tonight at Ben’s Tune Up located at 195 Hillard Ave., Ashevlle, NC. They jam from 8-11 pm.
There is an open mic event every Thursday at Common Grounds Cafe, located at 602 S ElamAve., Greensboro, NC. Hosted by Carrie Paz, the music starts at 8 pm and all musicians are welcome to come out and play until 11 pm.
Live tonight at The Blue Note Grill, located at 709 Washington St., Durham, NC; there is a show that is wrapped in tradition. Here are the details:

In its 7th year at The Blue Note Grill in Durham, the Newtonanny is a sing-a-long of seasonal songs with FJ Ventre, Rebecca Newton and family. It’s a bit of a country-coated flavor. One of the all-time favorite sub-events is the “Hideous Christmas Couture” contest, where Triangle residents sport their finest (or worst) seasonal clothes. There WILL be prizes.

It’s the Triangle area’s biggest annual Sing-a-long of the year. Good food, good friends, good fun and really good music!

Live tonight at The Pour House Music Hall, located at 224 S Blount St., Raleigh, NC, there is a triple bill of original talent being offered for free to anyone over 21!

There is an open mic/open jam going down tonight at Korner Pocket Sports Bar & Grille, located at 8508 Capitol Blvd., Raleigh, NC. They will have a drum kit set up so full bands are welcome to come jam. Pack up the gig bag, grab your gear and come out and shine tonight. Music starts at 9 pm and the jam goes til 1 am.
