I am full of good feelings and gratitude when I look back on this past year. One that was action packed and full of music and fun times. I would like to thank all of the venues that have welcomed me, the bands that have entertained me and the people who have randomly hugged me.
Thank you for reading this blog and sharing it with your friends. Thank you for supporting the live music scene and the musicians that make the music. I look forward to closing out this year by making a few more good music filled memories and I am most excited about the year ahead. In the coming year, NCMZ.LIVE will be offering affordable advertising for the bands and venues that are in need of spreading the signal. Readership increases each week; a trend that has continued since the beginning.
Without your support none of this would be possible. So my heartfelt thanks to goes out to you all this evening. Teamwork makes great things happen. Thanks for being a part of greatness. I for one, am very grateful.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours from me and mine!
On Saturday evening I ended my night at LaRosa’s Italian Restaurant Bar & Lounge, to check out Tommy Duzan, Sr. The local stringer gave up a great night of familiar tunes, as well as a few of his own works. Before the night ended, he even shared the stage with a special guest who was inspired to sing to his lady.
Duzan is often found around town, playing his guitar, sharing his sounds with shoppers and tourists passing through New Bern. To check out this talented player be sure to come out on Friday December 1, 2017, when Duzan offers three hours of music for folks hanging on the patio at Circa 1810 Restaurant & Bar at Harvey Mansion, 221 S Front St., New Bern, NC. He offers the grooves from 8-11 pm.
On Sunday evening I returned to the patio at Circa 1810 Restaurant & Bar at Harvey Mansion to closed out the weekend with the rockin’ sounds of The Joe Baes Project. The rock trio is New Bern based and full of talent. On guitar and vocals is the namesake, Joe Baes. Mike Galloway offers vox and bass and drummer Jonathan Toler.
Though the band is well versed in 90’s and more modern rock, I find their original music to be the most interesting and fun. I happen to be a huge fan of local original music and this band is no exception. If you have time, check them out soon. They will be rocking at BrÛtopia, 1201 Highway 70 East, New Bern, NC for New Year’s Eve. The party starts at 8 pm and they rock til 12:30 am.
