On the Scene with Tracey Stones
On Saturday night, I stayed around town yet again to catch a couple~few shows. That means I caught a few shows and will talk about a couple of them now. My first stop brought me to Circa 1810 Restaurant & Bar at The Harvey Mansion, 221 S Front St. Where I got to touch base with Peace Soldier, as they offer a blazing night of classic rock standards with a bit of blues blended in to the mix. It was originally booked as an acoustic trio evening, but things changed when the whole band showed up. The band recently set out again after reforming under the direction of the original Peace Soldier, Bobby Hurff.
Joining Hurff on stage for this tour, we meet Eddie Oswalt- harmonica and vocals; James Olson- lead guitar, James Smith- guitar, Richard Williams- bass and Bryan D on drums.
This past week the band played their final show for the 2017 calendar and are getting ready to head into the studio over the winter season to lay down some tracks on their original works. Expect much more from these guys in the months ahead.

The other show I caught in town on Saturday night was that of The Oblations, brought to us by GEM Productions. The duo performed at The Brown Pelican from 8-11 pm and they offered a great show of inspiring jams, that held my attention throughout. In fact, I even purchased their CD. I will talk more about that in another installment after further listening. Here is more from the band’s Facebook band page:
