James Ford will be serving up the sounds for Mellow Monday at Savage’s Woodburning Pizzeria, located at 303 Metcalf Ave. New Bern, NC. Music starts at 6:45 pm and please note a $5.00 donation for the entertainment is appreciated and always welcome.

There is a beer release party happening tonight at The Backstreet Pub, located at 124 Middle Ln. Beaufort, NC and playing music in the beer garden for the occasion will be The Ends. Come sip on Bell’s Oberon, a limited seasonal beer and get lost in the music from 6 til 11 pm.

Philharmonic Association String Quartet Concert is being held this evening at the West Regional Library, located at 4000 Louis Stephens Dr. Cary, NC. The performance is one hour and it begins at 6:30 pm. This is a casual educational concert, where the musicians will talk about their instruments and the music. Great for kids!

Since I love dancing and always take a minute to encourage it at the end of this blog. Here is where you can learn how to be a better one. Each Monday is salsa night at In The Mood to Dance, located at 6325 Falls of Neuse Rd. Suite 35-208 Raleigh, NC.

Salsa is HOT, popular, & aerobic. We take you through the basics in Level 1 at 6:30pm, developing basic movements, rhythm, and footwork. Level 2 at 7:30pm, we take you beyond your basic, by creating style, flair, and syncopations.

Level 1 is built for beginners who want to be introduced to Salsa and will repeat the same information every month.

Level 2 is built for dancers wanting to further their basics by adding flair to their movements. Each month, we cover a different concept.

May: Hand Changes June: Turns (Spot Turns VS Traveling Turns)

Open Mic Madness

Live tonight at The Shed, located at 807 E Main St. Durham, NC, you can enjoy a cool jazz jam featuring the area’s hottest players, hosted by Ernest Turner Trio 8 – 11 pm.  $3 cover, all ages. Live jazz featuring Ernest Turner (piano) with a rotating cast of the area’s best bass and drum teams. Special guests join for the 2nd set around 10 PM.

There is an open mic event happening at Legion Brewery, located at 1906 Commonwealth Ave. Charlotte, NC. Music plays from 7-9 pm and this event is being hosted by Lisa DeNovo, who says this on the event page…

It’s on Open Mic Music and Comedy event going down tonight at The Grey Eagle, located at 185 Clingman Ave. Asheville, NC. And here is how they work things at this event according to the Facebook event page:

The Grey Eagle has joined forces with Slice Of Life Comedy, to bring you Asheville’s ultimate open mic night — music + comedy!

MUSIC open mic begins at 6PM with sign ups at 5:30PM.
Admission is FREE.

COMEDY open mic begins at 9:30PM with sign ups at 9PM.
Admission is $2-$5 at the door.



The final open mic event that I found for everyone is taking place tonight in Jacksonville, over at 1140 Old Maplehurst Rd. which is the location of Nick’s Blacksheep Tavern. Music starts at 8 pm and tonight’s event is being hosted by Gene Gregory. All players are welcome. Please bring your instruments and talent and sign up to entertain the crowd tonight.
