Live music and dinner are the offerings at The City Laundry, located at 901 Pollock St., New Bern, NC. They are offering the talents of two talented singers to serenade you through a fine dinner which they will be serving from 6 – 10 pm. Here are all of the details I learned from the Facebook event page:

We are creating the perfect date night for Valentines. It’s a classic movie romance theme! Sweet music with our own favorites Alisa Mike and John Van Dyke. And we’ll be serving up some dreamy specials to enhance Amor.
The evening will begin with your choice of soup or salad. The main entrée will be Honey Butter baked Chicken with two sides. Your choice of sides are: maple mashed sweet potatoes, hasselback baked potatoes, glazed carrots, bacon wrapped asparagus. The dinner will conclude with a new York style cheesecake with your choice of either blueberries, cherries or caramel chocolate topping. Soft beverages are included (tea, coffee, sodas). Alcohol and gratuity are not included.

Richard Gibson’s Acoustic Jam takes place tonight at Catawba Brewing Co~Biltmore Village, located at 63 Brook St., Asheville, NC. This weekly event boasts some great players from the Asheville area and offers some fine jams each week. Come out and enjoy the vibe and the music from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. It is even cool to bring your date tonight. ♥

McLovins are on tour and they are coming to Charlotte for a Valentine’s Day performance at The Rabbit Hole, located at 1801 Commonwealth Ave., Charlotte, NC. Music starts at 8 pm and they will rock you til the midnight hour. Here is what I learned on the FB event page:

For those looking for laughter instead of music to share with your love, I have a couple of comedy options for you. First up in the Queen City we have Jodi White, who will be offering her skits tonight and tomorrow at 8 pm at The Comedy Zone, located at 900 NC Music Factory Blvd., Charlotte, NC. Over in the Capital City they are offering a Valentine’s Day show tonight at Goodnight’s Comedy Club, located at 861 W Morgan St., Raleigh, NC. For tonight they offer the comic relief of Owen Benjamin whose show starts at 7:30 pm.

Coming around to the RDU area there are three bands set to take the stage at Pour House Music Hall, located at 224 S Blount St., Raleigh, NC. On the bill for this Valentines Day come out and enjoy the sounds of Durty Dub, who will play for all the lovers, plus shows from Ages of Sages and Trike. Tickets are $5 in advance and $8 at the door the night of the show. It is a romantic night of music for those in attendance at  Rush Hour Concert Series: French Classical Flute, Piano, & Voice.

This event starts at 5:30 pm and will be held at UNCW, located at 601 S College Rd., Wilmington, NC. Tickets are just $10 each and this is what I learned on the Facebook event page.

This performance is our Valentine edition, so bring your loved one to see this wonderful performance! Rush Hour Concert Series present: “Nicholas Duchamp, Elizabeth Loparits, and Nancy King: French Classical Flute, Piano, & Voice”
Nicolas Duchamp is an internationally acclaimed performer and respected teacher, in the tradition of the Paris Conservatory French school of flute playing, of which Philippe Gaubert was among the most famous. Born in Bordeaux France, ( as Barrere and Taffanel ) he received directly the tradition of the French flute playing from his teachers in his native city.
Mr. Duchamp has served for many years as principal flutist for the National Opera Comique in Paris and toured extensively in his native France as well as Europe, Japan and North America. Nicolas has performed internationally in solo recitals, chamber music ensembles and as orchestra soloist in prestigious concert halls including Salle Pleyel, Cité des Arts, Salle Gaveau and Salle Cortot in Paris, Claude Champagne Hall in Montreal, the Zitadelle Spandau in Berlin, Olympia Hall in Munich, Spivey Hall in Atlanta and Weill Recital Hall in New York.
Duchamp’s active international career takes him regularly throughout Europe, North America and to Japan. He has been featured in numerous international festivals, including the Belle Ile Festival, Radio France Broadcast Festival, Switzerland’s Crans-Montana Festival, and the American Music Festival, to name a few.
