Following Loy’s fun and familar set of great grooves we get to welcome The Hounds to the house and they will make their debut and play for the crowd from 7-10 pm. This blues duo will be making their debut on the city club circuit though the players are well versed. Known mostly for their work as players with the New Bern Civic Theater Band, they are stretching out and bringing their blues to the Dirty Bird tonight. This show is free and the music will be swinging!
Chit Nasty Band is making their City Laundry debut located at 901 Pollock St,. New Bern, NC. This promises also to be a great doublw bill for $7.00 admission. Here is what I got from the event posted on FB:
You asked for it, you begged for it, and it’s finally here. Chit Nasty Band will make their triumphant return to New Bern, their first full band show since Bernaroo 2015, on October 21st at The City Laundry. This raucous Raleigh-based funk band is known for their timless tunes and engaging live shows and they’re guaranteed to be bringing New Bern yet another sweat-soaked dance party. Local upstarts Bearfoot Monty are set to open the evening. Admission is $7 and doors will open at 8:00 p.m. with the music starting at 9:00.
Chit Nasty Band’s live show is nothing short of a euphoric experience, their last full band outing in New Bern closed out with a Soul Train-inspired dance tunnel that saw folks young and old engaging with one another in a release of pure, unadulterated happiness. With infectious melodies and captivating rhythms, attendees are guaranteed to be drenched in the funk and overcome with love and positivity. We may be in a tumultuous time as a country, but it’s always all good in the Nasty Nation!
Opening up the evening will be the debut of New Bern-based Bearfoot Monty. Led by vocalist Justin Hargett, this roots rock blues-based crew is an incredibly promising young act with an attention-grabbing sound. Featuring members of Merchant’s Road and The Dick Richards, these seasoned musicians will be bringing their whiskey-soaked sound to the stage for one hell of an opening act. While they only have one live video showcasing their music, there’s no doubt that Bearfoot Monty is a name you’ll want to keep your eye on.
This sounds like a fun show to check out, and I think the opening act is going to offer a fresh sound for the New Bern scene. Make sure to check out Barefoot Monty!
