On The Scene With Tracey Stones
Dust Parade Plays Community Concert at Fairfield Harbour for Father’s Day
Hank Barbee and The Dust Parade made an appearance in Fairfield Harbour for Father’s Day. They offered the residents a two-hour concert in the afternoon. Picnic In the Park is a Tracey Stones Productions presentation, taking place at Red Sail Park. I am building a Community Concert Series that we can bring to all communities in our area. We have many that would welcome such an idea.
If this becomes successful, it will raise the funds we need to build an orchestra for our schools here in Craven County! Dream big, dream music! My idea is that we bring local original acts to communities for a concert series that allows them to bring the food and drink of their choice, with entire families and their friends. It will be a tip generated program until a committee is formed, but the work is underway for a great music foundation to be built here in New Bern.
We had a fun time, gathering for music and good memories made. It was a beautiful afternoon. Hank Barbee performs throughout the Northeast and all over our state too. He is available for full band formations, trio combinations, duos, and he plays a great solo show as well. To keep up with the dust parade check out

Friday Night Fun Around New Bern
Men About Town at Farmer’s Market
There was a pig roast at the pre-party for those that are participating in the Great Trent River Raft Race, taking place right now in New Bern. The event officially kicked off at 9 am this morning, with many groups taking their homemade vessels to the river for the one-time traditional race.
Men About Town reached out to tell me they would be set up at the Farmers Market for the pre-party pig roast and would be playing for tips. Since free music is never free, I started my night with them. They were wrapping up their last set when I got there and offered some Hendrix and even Stevie Ray Vaughan. To check out Men About Town, stop by to meet Bruce Cornford and Howie Nelson, each Thursday at the Brown Pelican where they host open mic from 8-11 pm. Sign up starts at 7 pm and you are invited.
For those that want to be a part of the fun, grab the family now and head to town. The Wannabees rock at 1, 3 Day Weekend give it up at 3 pm and Bryan Mayer Band closes out the fun day, after the awards ceremony at 5 pm. The day ends at 8 pm so please come dance!
Dan Jam at The Dirty Bird
Dan Jam Phillips and Friends gathered at The Brown Pelican to offer three hours of fun, eclectic music with a variety of musical friend throughout the night. It is always a fun and interesting mix of talents that present when Dan Jam sets up. No two nights ever bring the same band and the impromptu feel keeps it impressive.
Live music at the Brown Pelican will be provided by the For Rent Band. Check out Howard Mathews and his band tonight from 8-11 pm. The Brown Pelican is located at 411 Broad St., Nw Bern, NC.
Paid Time Off at Thirsty Bruin
Paid Time Off is the father/daughter duo of Rick and Jenna Leigh Huff and last night the duo came to town to offer songs to their friends and fans that gathered at The Thirsty Bruin. Tonight you can enjoy the sounds of Bruce Lynch live from 8-10:30 pm. The Thirsty Bruin is located at 224 Middle St., New Bern, NC. This show is free, the beer is fresh and the music will make you groove, so come out and dance!

Lenoir County’s rockers, The Roman Sams Band returned to the patio at Circa 1810 Bar at the Harvey Mansion for an explosive three sets of fun classic rock that the crowd enjoyed.
