Back In Beaufort We Jam with Mac & Juice!
Picking things up where we last roamed, I would like to return to Beaufort to start things off today, as that is where I ran into the incredibly talented Mac & Juice Duo last weekend.
The boys were rocking The Backstreet Pub on Saturday night, offering the crowd of fans the many jams they love. From classic rock to obscure selections that few bands touch, these guys offer anything from Led Zeppelin to the Dead to the Black Crowes
My favorite, of all the songs they offer, are the original jams. Together they are a well-oiled machine when working in duo form. These two stringers started their jams in college up at ECU, many moons ago and have long left school but have been rocking the scene ever since.
When not working as a duo, they jam with a full on four pieces. Mac & Juice Quartet. Currently they are booking dates for the 2019 music season. If you are looking for a fun jam band that will keep your crowd happy and grooving, be sure to add them to you the calendar.
For those looking to jam with the band, you can find them tonight grooving where it all began, back in Greenville. They will be rocking at AJ McMurphy’s, 1914 Turnbury Dr., Greenville, NC. Music starts at 8:30 pm.
For those looking to book the band be sure to reach out to them today via email at email@example.com.

Sunday Brunch is Back at Off The Hook
One of my favorite stops along the Crystal Coast, to catch a bite and drink in live music is Off the Hook in Morehead City. The restaurant recently closed for a couple of weeks to tend to some much needed renovations. They reopened their doors on January 23, 2019.
On Sunday I took a trip down to enjoy brunch with a fellow music lover and friend Mary Shine, who helps me cover events. On Saturday night Shine took in the Nantucket / Sidewinder show at the Civic Center in Morehead City.
While enjoying french toast, Charlton shared songs. He will return for another round of brunch tunes tomorrow from 12 noon until 4 pm. Then it is Superbowl fun as per my buddy Charlie Weatherby, owner, manager, and chef at Off The Hook.

Big Jim Jams The Blues
Big Jim returned to the Brown Pelican last Monday night for another great night, of offering the blues and jamming with friends. Above he walks the room and greets his original NC bass player, Bass Player of the Year Mike Sandvig, who stopped in to enjoy the show!
It was another fun night, which helped many kick the Monday Blues. You can look forward to this jam night taking place each Monday night from 7-9 pm.

Blues Not Once But Twice a Week
Fact is, Big Jim is a big part of the New Bern Music Scene. He is the jam man that got music started again on a whole new level, not long after settling in the city of bears. That takes us back to 2011 when he started sharing songs around these parts.
I met him in 2013 and became one of his biggest fans not long after our introduction. His music infects me with good vibes and my soul soaks up his soothing grooves.
Big Jim takes the stage most Wednesday’s at City Stage, to again bring the jam and welcome friends to his world of music. Come out this week and enjoy the fun or be a part of it.

I Get By With A Little Help from Supporters!
On Wednesday evening I was delighted to finally hug Raymond Dunn. I have been waiting for this moment for months. Dunn is the guy that stepped up last year and helped secure the blog site for another year with a contribution that covered the costs.
All of the contributions help, as I try to get by on the kindness of others and try hard to build something amazing for many communities to enjoy! Truth is once I get there, the tip jars will disappear and panhandling will stop. Until then, I remain full of dreams that needs financial backing! My heart is full of faith that the day will come and that hard work will be rewarded. Not just for myself but the music community as well!
Given the fact that we are speaking about the supporters. I wish to thank you all for your donations. Every dollar has made a difference to me going the extra mile. My truck has more than a few miles, looking to log 400,000 this weekend.
Everyone who contributes gets added to the Thank You Page! If you’d like to be added to the list please make a contribution by way of the donation button at the bottom of the blog. Thank you for your support

Black History Month and the Blues
While speaking with blog supporter Raymond Dunn, his friend inquired about my knowledge of music, while throwing out a few fake names and challenging my knowledge of the blues. In that conversation, however, he also brought up Bessie Smith.
Smith was playing in speakeasies when speakeasies were the place to be! She shaped the world with her blues takes and offered jazz infusions of traditional American music. Gone since 1937, Smith still shapes the scene today! While do some research I found this video worth sharing as we honor the memory of Grandmother of the Blues!

Last night I announced that Rick Huff would be sharing songs with friends at The Bruin Craft Beer and Wine Store on Middle Street. I was rather surprised when I walked in to meet Logan Nobles.
